The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent option for those who live in a multi-floored home. Its dual motors give it impressive cleaning power and the 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dust bin is easy to remove and emptied which is great as you'll need to do this frequently.

It's easy to set up as well, but I do recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid before running it for the first time. It can identify the rooms, split rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier to open-plan living and direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that require cleaning at a particular time. The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can turn on the mop or vacuum via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot even more hands-free. And it is working well in our test house.

The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has issues with bare flooring. It can miss pet fur and small objects and can cause bumps to objects like its charger on the charging platform. It's not as quiet as other models we've tested, and the whirring sounds could be distracting.

Roborock V3S pro

This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we tested but it does come with the basics. It has a large dust bin that can hold a large amount of dirt prior to needing to be emptied. The mop and vacuum system is great for both carpets and hard floors with a low pile. It's also quiet. We were able watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like we were overwhelmed by noise.

Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to install and use, and were impressed by its capacity to clean all the mess out of their floors. It was successful in getting rid of pet hair, messes and carpeting however, it was more difficult in eliminating stubborn stains. The app was easy to use and intuitive. It was able to set up the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on manual work. It doesn't have any mapping or object avoidance technology, so it isn't able to be used to send specific rooms or follow virtual borders (though magnetic boundaries are compatible).

The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choices lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was easy to use and set up, but the battery life was short.
