Fortunately, there are some simple steps you can follow to replace your Volvo key fob battery at your own expense. First, locate a clear work surface to begin the process. Then, arrange all the tools you'll need. Then, locate the battery's hatch, and open it using a flathead, a coin, or any other similar tool. Then, carefully pull out the battery by lifting the side closest to the key-ring hook. Make sure you wear rubber gloves to protect the contacts or the clips.

After the battery has been removed, put the new one into its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing up and that it is securely seated in all of the clips. Then slide the cover back towards the key-ring loop until it becomes loose and falls off. Then, remove the cover and reveal the key blade inside. You can use it to unlock your car from the driver's seat in the event that you've lost or damaged your key fob.

Once you have opened the fob, you can locate and remove the CR 2032 3V battery. Replace the battery, then snap to the fob.
